Lerrald and Vred set forth to find the greatest mapmaker in all the land, the Cartesian Bear. This meant that they were going south, because the Cartesian Bear was well known to dislike Polar Bears, and stay as far away from them as possible.

"So," spake Vred, as they travelled, "do you think the whole story is going to be full of referential humor and obscure math jokes like this?"

"Indeed," replied Lerrald, "for the author art a nerd of the greatest magnitude. Also, the breaking of the fourth wall shalt most likely continue unabated."

Whereupon Vred stopped walking for a moment, frowned, exclaimed "Dang it!" and hurried to catch up with Lerrald.
